Why seal your shower enclosure?

Glass is a relatively porous material that, due to its physical and chemical properties, can corrode over time. To the naked eye it has a smooth surface, but in reality it consists of microscopic ridges and valleys. It’s in these valleys that mineral deposits and soap scum can live and breed. Opting for a glass sealant is like wrapping your shower in Teflon®. It’s certainly not a “fire the maid” situation, but it does reduce maintenance and keep your shower glass looking clear and clean.

Cardinal Armor

Cardinal Armor is a glass surface protection system based on a chemical process that links oxygen with carbon in the porous surface, blocking hydrolysis making the glass surface hydrophobic and repellant. Water beads up and runs off like quicksilver. The Cardinal Armor treatment leaves glass anti-static, repelling dust.

Cardinal Armor consists of multiple co-polymers that prevent hard water, soap and other stains from adhering to the surface. Dirt rinses away leaving the glass sparkling clear and streak free. Cleaning is far less frequent and much easier, without "harsh cleaners" of any kind.

Cardinal also offers an aftercare product to keep your shower looking pristine. Glass is protected perpetually by simply cleaning with the Cardinal Armor Wash as needed. Cardinal 10

Cardinal 10 Surface Protection is a glass protection system that repels both water (hydrophobic) and oils (oleophobic). Chemical bonding (Covalent bonding) takes place between Cardinal 10 and the glass surface, not molecular bonding (Hydrogen bonding), as in other glass coatings. This creates a near permanent bond that can only be removed by abrasion and removal of the top layer of glass. Cardinal 10 is resistant to UV degradation. Exposure to UV rays does not cause a film to form, nor does it cause a breakdown in the coating.

Scientifically Tested

Accelerated testing, performed to duplicate the effects of continuous cleaning and UV exposure of the coated surface for a 10 year period, concluded there was no noticeable degradation of the water and oil repelling properties of Cardinal 10. The coated surface should continue to perform well after the 10 year warranty period.

Ten Year Warranty

The manufacturer warrants that the Cardinal 10 Surface Protection will remain water repellent for a period of ten years from the date of the receipt provided by your installer.

Diamond Fusion

Diamon-Fusion’s® one-time permanent chemical treatment process uses a vapor mist that becomes absorbed into tempered glass, filling the uneven surface. This transforms the exterior plane into an ultra-smooth, optically clear protective layer.

Add Diamon-Fusion® treatment to your Century enclosure to reduce maintenance time by at least 50%. Depending on the mineral content in your water, you can reduce the cleaning time up to 90%. No harsh, caustic chemicals are ever required to clean Diamon-Fusion® treated glass. After a shower, simply pour cool water along the top edge of the glass and watch most of the soapy residue run off. A squeegee and a dry washcloth will remove the few small drops of water that remain.

CRL TPC Surface Protector

CRL TPC Surface Protector will actually seal the pores of glass, porcelain, ceramic, plastics, polished metals, fiberglass and marble to make the surface water, soil and stain resistant. The clear coating guards against the adhesion and build-up of dirt, grime, mold, mildew, rust and mineral deposits. Environmentally friendly and non-toxic, CRL TPC Surface Protector facilitates preventive maintenance, reducing costly cleaning, repairs and replacement. Simply spray on and polish off. One fluid ounce (29 milliliter) of TPC Surface Protector protects approximately 15 square feet (4,572 square millimeters) of glass.

Also, occasionally wiping the glass surface with cool water and a microfiber towel goes a long way towards a spotless shower.
